About the Day
Inflammatory Neuropathies UK is proud to announce the premiere of a project almost fifteen years in the making to help raise awareness and knowledge of Guillain-Barré Syndrome, commonly known as GBS.
Around fifteen years ago, Rosie Hyslop (mother to Jenny who survived GBS as a child) and members of the Lancashire & Cumbria support group for Inflammatory Neuropathies had an idea. They wanted to create something that would raise awareness of this rare, and life-changing condition that goes unseen, unheard, and often misdiagnosed.
What followed was years of fundraising, and determination. Along the way there were a few hurdles, including a pandemic to contend with, but the vision never faded.
In August 2025, we linked up with Groundbreak Productions to capture five short films, each telling a unique and intimate story of experiencing GBS.
Filmed in Lancashire and Cumbria, and featuring voices from across the region, it feels only right…
